Assignment 2: Identifying Themes

Identifying themes in your literature is very important because it helps you create a scaffold for your literature review. Without knowing themes, patterns, and trends, the literature review usually reads like a meaningless list with no connection between one study and the next. In addition, without identification of themes, there is no appreciation of how scholars are actually having a conversation on paper regarding their discoveries.

By now, you have taken part in multiple exercises and assignments which were intended to assist you in clarifying the themes you will pull together in and through your literature review. Now is the time to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), and to take all of the preparatory work you have done and to actualize it in a draft of your literature review.

For this assignment, you will develop a Title page, Abstract, and a References page. Articulate your main research/focal question as the opening for your paper. Be sure it is specific, researchable, and important to the field. Then go on to list a detailed outline of the body of the paper, (including all headings and subheadings). Be sure to format your entire paper, including the headings and subheadings according to APA style.

Abstract

 

Drugs or abuse substance is a chronic social problem that has affected almost the entire society. Substance abuse it defines as the harmful use of substances specifically for mood altering purposes. Drug abuse also can is defined as the use of illicit drugs, the abuse of a physician’s prescription or as the use of over-the-counter drugs for other purposes away from the manner in which they should be used as directed. A chronic social problem that has effect our society is drugs and substance abuse. Substance abuse is a harmful use of substances for a specifically in mood alteration purposes. Drug abuse can also define as a use of illicit drugs; such as cocaine and heroin. Where’s as in abuse of some physician’s prescriptions or even over the counter for purposes but is not intended or directed. Many drugs are out there that have been experienced though our own eyes. The many drugs today help some as in people who need them cause of their illness, but not intended to keep a substance abuser in his/her comfort zone. Initial Low-Level Involvement people usually begin using drugs as preteens or going through their teen years and use initially is largely due to the curiosity, peer pressure, or to be in the in crowd. About 64 percent of teens surveyed who have abused pain relievers say they got them from friends or relatives. However, a very special therapist understands that drug treatment needs to be as individual as the patient suffering from the addiction. Very often, we forget about the obvious ways to duplicate success as we are so stuck in what we have been leaded to be true.
